I'll be honest, I was hoping for this

Yeah, asshat, you do, in fact, own a timber company.

i've noted that you (quite accurately) rip mr. bush for various inaccuracies in his statements, but i must ask, since i've not seen evidence of it, if you similarly examine the accuracy of mr. kerry's statements.

Well, first of all, because it's my blog and I'll do whatever I want with it =)

Actually, I have used this space to mention my concerns with Sen. Kerry. However, in the interest of fairness and what not, you should know that www.factcheck.org is non-partisan and does list the facts behind any distortions made by either candidate in the debates. I also recommend www.spinsanity.com, which advertises itself as a "Bi-partisan Bull Detector." They have been taking on campaign ads as well as public statments the candidates and other political figures.

Not to be all x-files, but the truth is out there. And it's not terribly hard to find, either. Don't rely on me, or anyone else, to find it for you. I've got an interest in getting Kerry elected and W. out of office, and seeing as this is my space for my opinions, I don't feel particularly bad about highlighting W's lies and faults over Kerry's. I don't pretend to be nonpartisan and I don't pretend to be impartial.

was just curious, my concern was more that you are scrutinizing both candidates rather than blindly following. you have alleviated any concern on that, thank you. also thank you for the sites to crosscheck the candidates with.

Bashing that comment is so funny, I ranted about it for a few minutes after they announced he was indeed a liar on ABC!
Annie, you would be so proud of my interest in the politics of this debate. Don and I cannot talk about the issue at all because we are debating too heatedly!

See, that's what I like to hear--politics causing dissention between partners. Glad to have done my part.

Well, that's a bit twisted, I'd say. I'd also say that you spelled dissension wrong. :P

Judging by the very small stake he has in the timber company, you would also say I own a car company because I have a few shares of Ford stock ...

Uh-huh. But you seem to know that you have an interest, however small, in Ford and you aren't going to go on TV and make an ass out of yourself by not knowing your own portfolio. This is the same campaign that is portraying Kerry and his wife as out-of-touch bazillionaires and yet thier own guy can't keep track of where his money is. As it turns out, Bush's Lone Star Trust owns 50% of TSTF, the company in question. If you own 50% of Ford, well, handsome, we need to talk. And not just about the Lions. . .

So, out of curiosity, just how many fellows are you addressing as "handsome" these days? It would seem, Cutesy Buttons, that the list has expanded as of late.

Isn't that an oil company? And certainly not 50% (I can only dream of such) but I had to look it up. Stocks work best when you can ignore them, so I don't really pay attention to what I actually have.
