So that lasted all of two weeks

Oh, bite me. Friday Fun was unexpectedly detained this week, it's mind completely blown by running into an old college drinking buddy at the Seminary that afternoon. In it's place, it has sent it's perfectly charming cousin, Sunday Brunch. Sunday Brunch treats us with a back-to-school related questionnaire in keeping with the season:

1. Do you prefer wide rule or college rule notebook paper?
I prefer college rule and I always have. I have no idea what this means about me as a person, I just think the wide rule stuff looks silly. Like, you need alllll thaaaat sppppaaaaace to write in crayon or something.

2. What is your favorite writing instrument?
I like a nice medium size ballpoint pen in blue, personally. Though Bic used to make a relatively cheap plastic pen that had a fountain pen nib on it that I loved. Alas, they've disappeared from the market so it's back to the regular kind. Don't have a favorite brand, really.

3. What is the one office or school supply you cannot live without?
Heh. Notebooks. Notebooks in any size, from the small one that lives in my purse to those big five-subject jobs. Since learning to write, I don't think I've ever not been in possession of some notebook of some kind in which to write down thoughts, ideas, to do lists, bits of poetry or prose, names of songs, books to read, phone numbers. . . .

4. Staples or paper clips?
Staples. Paper clips never work. Things fall out, get shuffled around, the clip sticks to everything, it's all a big hassle. You know what I really like, as far as attaching hardware goes? Binder clips. They hold more than you can staple together and are more secure than clips.

5. Describe the contents of the top of your desk.
Work desk or home desk? Home has a computer, a page-a-day calendar of "forgotten English," a pen cup, an egg time, a stack of pictures, a teeny pot of fake tulips, a water bottle, a half-finished can of Diet Coke, an open package of Peeps ripening to perfect staleness, and a stack of Scapino posters.

At work, I've got a computer, a phone, a three-tiered in/out/whatever box, a desk calendar, last week's Michigan Catholic, a coffee cup with something scary on the bottom, the Kenedy directory, and the official Catholic almanac.

So . . . what've you got?

1. wide or college?
college rule, always have

2. favorite writting instrument?
Pick just one? whichever is going to be comfortable and appropriate (or just closest) for what I'm doing, although that fountain pen looks really cool... where can you buy them?

3. school suppy I can't live without?
I'm right there with you on the notebooks. Gotta have something to write on (and with) all the time.

4. staples or clips?
They both have pros and cons. I guess the difference for me is which one I can find when I need to make sure things stay together and what the things are going to go through. Sitting undisturbed in a drawer or going to school with a small child?

5. contents of the top of my desk...
That one could get embarrassing. It's in the sewing room and kinda filled up with fabric, patterns, thread, and other misc. sewing-related items while I was doing the dresses for Thor's wedding and I haven't cleaned it off yet. I think there are some binders and reams of paper on there, too, but I'm not sure anymore.
